Finnish Association for Heart Children and Adults
Finnish Association for Heart Children and Adults, established in 1975, is a nationwide patient organization that advocates for the interests of individuals with congenital heart defects and inherited heart diseases, as well as their families.”
The association organizes a variety of courses, camp activities, as well as national events and meetings. Arranged activities are not only for children with heart conditions and their families, but also for young people and adults with heart conditions. The association’s member magazine is published four times a year. The association also produces brochures as well as other informational materials, supports the training of healthcare professionals and organizes training for support persons.
The Finnish Association for Heart Children and Adults has a nationwide network of regional divisions that operate on the same principles for the benefit of their members in each divisions area.
The main goal of the association is to act as an advocate for all individuals with congenital heart defects and their families, and to serve as a link between this patient group and healthcare professionals. The Finnish Association for Heart Children and Adults is a member organization of the Finnish Heart Association.

International Cooperation
The Finnish Association for Heart Children and Adults engages in international cooperation, particularly with sister organizations in the Nordic countries and Europe. Nordic cooperation has been ongoing since late 1970’s. Collaboration with other European organizations began to increase in 2004.
